W. Gohman Construction Co. transformed the
pre-existing structure into a facility that has form and function to serve the people of
the community and is delightful to look at. The complexity of removing the
"skin" on all four sides of the existing building as well as the roof,
constructing additional square footage on those sides and adding a second floor, while
keeping the business in continual operation was a monumental task. The design included a combination of "eye-catching"
materials including metallic silver Alucobond panels, multi-toned brick, Cold Spring
polished red granite and sloped copper-colored standing seam metal hipped roof. The
two-story canopied main entry features a cantilevered round conference room on the second
floor.
The interior features a two-story atrium immediately inside
the main entrance. A decorative sculptured glass railing surrounds this opening. The
curved wood tellers line is the main focus of the bank lobby. The use of
cherry-stained oak hardwood and etched metallic-copper laminate provides an interesting,
warm and inviting atmosphere. The sculpted ceiling was designed with coved indirect
lighting, which provides a soft lighting that is both pleasing and comfortable.
